CLENCH WRENCH
The CLENCH is an adjustable, quick-release nut-holding back-up wrench for use in the assembly and disassembly of threaded connections in series. The CLENCH weighing only 5-1/2 pounds, replaces about 80 pounds of striker wrenches in 14 different sizes. It handles nut sizes between 1-11/16" and 2-15/16" (across the flats). The CLENCH assures positive back-up on large-size nuts during the make-up and break-out of bolted connections on pipe flanges, heat exchangers, blowout preventers, wellheads, and similar bolted systems. The CLENCH releases its hold with the touch of a lever, eliminating the need to hammer loose a back-up striker wrench after each connection is tightened. Since the need for hammers and striker wrenches is reduced, the CLENCH eliminates many of the hazards associated with striker tool operations.
